He also has participated in 2 science fairs, the Metro Richmond Science Fair, and the Virginia Junior Academy of Science Symposium, winning the Metro Richmond Science Fair. Even though this is his first time as part of a secretariat, he hopes to continue MUN in the future. Co-Director of Technology

Afshin Rahaman
Afshin Rahaman is a Co-director of Technology for WMUN. He’s an 8th grader in the GYSA program at Wilder Middle School. Afshin was first introduced to Model UN in 6th grade and was in 7th when he was told that we were creating our very own MUN here at Wilder. The main reason he chose to participate was because of team play. Although Afshin enjoys doing things independently sometimes, being part of a team is much more enticing. For this reason, he chose to take on volleyball and participate in other student-led organizations such as TSA (Technology Student Association) and NJHS (National Junior Honor Society). Afshin also spent his 5th and 6th-grade years learning different coding languages and spending most of his lunches at work constructing ideas for WMUN. Although his time in the exciting branch of MUN has been short, Afshin hopes to continue this passion into high school and create exciting memories for his team and future members and delegates.
